Grants

Pleasant Valley High School, a 2007 California Distinguished School, has a strong commitment to providing a high quality, public education for all students. PVHS students consistently score high on local, state and national assessments of student achievement. In 2006 PV had the highest state Academic Performance Index score of any high school in Butte County. Students at PV consistently score high on local, state and national assessments of student achievement. Students can participate in a wide range of academics and activities that help them develop their mental, artistic, social, emotional and physical capabilities. However, due to state wide funding shortfalls, the district recently had to cut funding for programs and service.

The PVHS Foundation’s mission is to raise funds to support the programs and activities that enrich our children’s education, yet are not provided by district funding. Grants provided by the Foundation enhance the growth and development of all of our students.

Education Support Grants
: The Foundation Board works closely with Pleasant Valley’s leaders to determine the highest needs at the school. The annual fund drive generates funds that are used for restoring the most critical components lost in public education.

Enrichment Grants: These classroom-based grants are provided to teachers for educational activities that directly engage students both inside and outside the classroom setting.

Restricted Grants: The PVHSF accepts targeted contributions from donors that meet criteria and support existing programs at Pleasant Valley.
