History of the Foundation
In the spring of 2007, former Pleasant Valley High School principal Mike Rupp convened a group of alumni, parents, and former staff members to discuss ways to develop a source of stable and sustainable income for Pleasant Valley High School. Those discussions identified the need to form the PVHS Foundation to focus on gathering monies to support consistent and equitable academic access for every student; monies that would not be tied to district budgets or any individual program or administration.
The PVHS Foundation was formed as a program of the North Valley Community Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. NVCF is responsible for the accounting and investing of donated monies, while the PVHS Foundation focuses on raising funds to enrich and enhance academic and extra-curricular program opportunities for PVHS students.
Members include alumni, faculty, staff and friends of Pleasant Valley High School who share a common commitment to support student activities and education goals. The possibilities for enhancing the educational opportunities and resources at Pleasant Valley are endless. Building this fund now not only enriches the school and community, but also creates a legacy for excellence that outlasts any individual program, administration, or plan.
The Foundation is managed by an Advisory Board of staff, alumni and community members. Officers serve without compensation and are elected to serve a 2 year term. If you have an interest in joining the advisory board, please contact us at info@pvhsfoundation.org.
The Foundation also serves as an alumni association, encouraging alumni to reconnect with Pleasant Valley and helping to coordinate reunions and events.
The PVHS Foundation is a program of the North Valley Community Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions are deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
