* Pleasant Valley High School's ROP culinary students took first place in the Prostart Culinary Management state competition. Team members include Chondra Spaeth, Josh Davis, Cody Bruggman, Chris Gull and alternate Rhonda Mosier. Each student was awarded a full set of knives, a $50 professional dress gift certificate, a $4,000 scholarship to Pomona State University, a $4,000 scholarship to Johnson and Wales and an all-expense paid trip to San Diego to represent California in the National Prostart Competition April 24-26.
